A blessing give forever more<\/div>\n
To those who dwell upon the shore<\/div>\n
Who wave to distant ships at sea<\/div>\n
And make the landfall safe for thee<\/div>\n
Who think of lands they've never known<\/div>\n
When building harbors of their own.<\/div>\n
Who wait to hear you tell your tales<\/div>\n
When you've returned from setting sail.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
A blessing give one hundred fold<\/div>\n
To folks who took this task of old,<\/div>\n
Who charted sea and charted sky<\/div>\n
And never ceased in asking why.<\/div>\n
To those who learned to name the stars<\/div>\n
Who studied currents, shoals and bars,<\/div>\n
Who mapped out pitfalls to beware<\/div>\n
And left their wisdom to be shared.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A blessing give to near or far<\/div>\n
Of those whose eyes are charmed by stars<\/div>\n
Who long for everything we'll find<\/div>\n
If we keep wonder in our minds.<\/div>\n
Who'll build for seas more harsh than this,<\/div>\n
Who'll face the void and name it bliss,<\/div>\n
Who hope to find some strange new hand,<\/div>\n
To reach it and to understand.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A blessing be upon their work,<\/div>\n
Each smith and bard and shipping clerk,<\/div>\n
Whose efforts set our hearts to flight;<\/div>\n
That dipped into eternal night.<\/div>\n
A blessing: may we always yearn,<\/div>\n
As ships go out and ships return,<\/div>\n
For knowledge, stars and distant shores –<\/div>\n
