My Vorpal Morningstar
by Tamir Buchshtav

Many weapons I have seen,
In dungeons near and far,
But nothing stranger could have been,
Then the vorpal Morningstar.

My DM rolled his many dice,
And checked it on a table,
And what he got was what we found,
To change he was unable.

It didn’t matter to the guy
That logic went astray,
He never stopped, did not ask why,
The roll turned out this way.

And so I had my Morningstar,
A ball upon a chain,
And when my rolls were high enough,
My enemies were slain.

A Morningstar beheading men?
We never wondered how.
The die was rolled, the tables clear,
And heads were rolling now.

Many weapons I have seen,
In dungeons near and far,
But a weapon sharper had never been,
Then my blunt old Morningstar.
